REC established its membership in the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The USGBC is “the nation’s foremost coalition of leaders from across the building industry working to promote buildings that are environmentally responsible, profitable and healthy places to live and work.” The “LEED” system is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Additionally REC has LEED accredited professionals on staff experienced in sustainable design techniques.
International Code Council
More and more municipalities are adopting International code standards as their basis for construction. As a member, REC is aware of these codes and can put them into practice as they are adopted for use. For example, the state of Illinois has adopted the energy conservation code portion of the ICC. REC made a seamless integration of this code to all projects built in the state.
National Society of Professional Engineers
As a corporate member of NSPE, REC is up to date on the latest changes in design practice and industry standards.
